Description
The Minnesota State Law Library is pleased to announce an opening for a Public Services Librarian. This is a permanent full time position performing professional library work. Work involves responsibility for performing a wide range of professional library tasks and may involve providing work direction to paraprofessionals, interns or volunteers. Work is performed independently under the general supervision of a Library Division Supervisor.

Example of Duties
• Provide reference services in person, via email and live chat, and at off-site locations.
• Participate in the ongoing development and maintenance of the library’s online presence: website, LibGuides, and social media.
• Assist with monthly self-help clinics and continuing education programs (CLEs).
• Work on special projects, as needed.

Typical Qualifications
QUALIFICATIONS:
• At least 3 years of experience conducting legal research is required.
• Candidates with a J.D. will be strongly preferred.
• Experience maintaining a website is strongly preferred.
• Experience working in a law library is strongly preferred.
• Master’s degree in Library Science from (or current enrollment in) an ALA accredited school is preferred.
• Demonstrated knowledge of computer hardware is preferred.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
• Strong customer-service focus.
• Experience performing print and online legal research.
• Ability to work with a diverse group of patrons.
• Self-motivated and detail-oriented.

SALARY RANGE: $23.77 – $36.89 per hour ($49,632 – $77,026 annually)
