Collection and Resource Management Librarian – University of Wisconsin-River Falls

The Collection and Resource Management Librarian provides leadership for and manages the cataloging and acquisitions staff. This position organizes and supervises policy and workflow issues related to these areas as they affect all departments throughout the library. This position provides leadership for assessing and developing the library’s collections and services in a collaborative team environment. This person serves as liaison to designated departments, participates in reference service and librarian instruction, participates in collection development activities for assigned subject areas, and works with library colleagues to develop a vision for implementing creative services and utilizing emerging technologies to meet the changing needs and expectations of our users.

Qualifications required: American Library Association-accredited master’s degree, or equivalent, with a minimum of two years subsequent library experience; experience working with a library management system; experience of increasing responsibility in library technical services operations; experience supervising staff; knowledge of machine-readable cataloging formats, Resource: Description & Access (RDA), Anglo American cataloging rules (AACR2), Library of Congress classification and Library of Congress subject headings and familiarity with Online Computer Library Center (OCLC) or other national bibliographic databases; knowledge of emerging technologies in libraries and how they impact the needs and expectations of library users; knowledge of trends in library assessment; strong public service commitment; demonstrated ability to work collaboratively; demonstrated ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.

Preferred: Library reference experience; library instruction experience; experience working as a liaison to academic departments; experience with quantitative and qualitative assessment methodologies, including research and survey design.
