Branch Librarian II, Wyoming Area Giese Memorial Library, 40 hours per week:

East Central Regional Library (ECRL) has a vacancy for the position of Branch Librarian II to oversee the operation of a medium-large branch library in Wyoming, MN. This position is for 40 hours per week. ECRL is a consolidated regional library system with 14 branches. A Bachelor’s Degree, up to date technology skills and three years related experience is required. MLS/MLIS or similar library certification or advanced library training is preferred. Candidates must have demonstrated creativity and vision to provide modern public library service; ability and willingness to work independently; above average communication skills; excellent customer service skills; and the ability and willingness to lead a library team of staff and volunteers. The Wyoming Area Giese Memorial Public Library is located in Wyoming, MN (Chisago County) about 30 miles north of St. Paul on Highway 35 and just 20 miles west of the scenic St. Croix River Valley. The branch is open 6 days per week, Tuesday – Sunday, for a total of 40 hours per week. The Branch Librarian is employed for 40 hours per week and supervises three Branch Assistants. Branch service statistics for 2016 recorded an average of 2,200 visitors and 3,500 checkouts per month. Wyoming ranks 8th of the 14 branches in ECRL service statistics. The Wyoming Library has an active Friends group and receives excellent community support.
