Youth Services and Programming Librarian – Zumbrota Public Library

The Zumbrota Public Library is seeking an enthusiastic, organized, and creative individual to oversee the library’s youth activities, as well as design and implement all programming for the library. Responsibilities in this position include providing reference assistance, obtaining grants, and overseeing day-to-day circulation operations in collaboration with the Library Director. This position also requires cataloging and collection management duties, making it a really diverse and unique position.

Additionally, the Youth Services Librarian serves as the Assistant Director, providing an excellent opportunity to learn library administration under a governing Library Board. The library is particularly looking for a forward-thinking individual knowledgeable in technology to further the library’s programming. A successful candidate will also possess the ability to create and maintain partnerships throughout the area. A Master’s Degree in Library Science from an ALA accredited institution is preferred, but not required.

The city of Zumbrota, MN, is located 50 miles south of the Twin Cities and 25 miles north of Rochester on the US Highway 52 corridor. It is a rapidly growing community, and its location makes it a great place to live with an easy drive to either the world class Mayo Clinic or to any of the amenities offered by the Twin Cities. The Zumbrota Public Library is a fast-paced environment, with the highest circulation among Southeastern Minnesota Public Libraries serving populations under 10,000. The library has a long tradition of community library support and was the first public library established in Minnesota.
