OVERVIEW
The technology integration specialist assists teachers with the implementation of technology-enhanced learning experiences that address and assess content standards, encourage creativity and personalize learning to meet individual student needs and interests. The technology integration specialist collaborates with district technology staff, building leaders, library media specialists, curriculum staff and instructional support staff.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

As a Leader:
• The technology integration specialist collaborates with all stakeholders to create and implement effective technology-enhanced teaching and learning and engagement practices.
• Provide leadership and staff development in effective application of technology to enhance standards-based instructional activities, assessment, and communication at the building and district level.
• Participate in the development of policies and procedures for technology.
• Assist in the design, development and organization of learning spaces to support technology-enhanced teaching and learning.
• Collaborate with district and school leaders and instructional teams to evaluate, select and apply appropriate hardware, software and other resources.
• Engage in continuous learning to deepen content and pedagogical knowledge in technology integration and emerging technologies.

As an Instructional Designer:
• Collaborate with teachers to develop effective instruction and assessment in digital environments.
• Work collaboratively with teachers to design and develop high-quality e-learning and blended learning applications.
• Model effective classroom management and collaborative learning strategies in technology-rich learning environments.
• Support the use of technology for formative and summative assessment of student learning.

As a Coach:
• Coach staff in the effective use of digital tools.
• Coach teachers in implementation of technology-enhanced learning experiences addressing content standards.
• Coach teachers in implementation of strategies that personalize learning based on student readiness levels, cultural understanding, interests and goals.
• Coach teachers in implementation of technology-enhanced learning experiences that emphasize creativity, higher order thinking skills, self-assessment and digital citizenship.
• Troubleshoot basic problems in digital learning environments, in collaboration with technology support staff.

Other duties as assigned by Program Director for Media and Instructional Technology and Executive Director for Technology.

QUALIFICATIONS
• Current Minnesota teaching license.
• Demonstrated proficiency in technology applications and leading professional learning for technology integration.
• Experience and training in instructional design that integrates technology to improve learing.
• Experience teaching in K-12 schools.
• Experience and training in using data to improve instruction.
• Experience and training in technology applications including Schoology, Google Apps, iOS apps, and SMART Notebook software.
• Working knowledge of technology hardware, including Windows, iPads, Chromebooks, digital projectors, SMART Boards, document cameras, video cameras and video conference equipment.
• Experience delivering professional learning in a variety of formats.
• Demonstrated organization and management skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Must have valid driver’s license and own personal vehicle to use to travel within the district boundaries.
