JOB TITLE:    Support Services Assistant

LOCATION:    History Center – 345 W Kellogg Blvd., St. Paul, MN 55102

SALARY:    $19.90 hourly minimum

STATUS & HOURS:    Full-time, (approximately 1,664 annual hours) project position through June 30, 2023.  Approximately 32 hours per week. This position requires flexibility, and the ability to work a varied schedule including weekends and holidays. Weekly hours may vary based on business needs.

BENEFITS:     Eligible to participate in the State Employee Group Insurance Program and a retirement program with employer contribution.  Generous vacation and sick time accruals with additional paid holidays.

DESCRIPTION:  This position exists to coordinate the daily services and operations of the Minnesota History Center parking lot and Market House Grab-n-Go cafe.

SUMMARY OF WORK:  1) Oversee the daily operations of the Market House Grab-n-Go; 2) Research additional product options for the Market House Grab-n-Go cafe; and 3) Oversee the daily parking lot operations.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.

  • Two years of full-time professional experience or equivalent specialized training in operations, business administration or hospitality.

  •  Strong computer skills including intermediate or higher skill level with Microsoft Office software and Google Suite applications..

  • Experience providing direction for staff or volunteers.

  • Customer service and interpersonal communications skills sufficient to establish and maintain effective working relationships.

  • Demonstrated positive customer service skills.

  • Demonstrated ability to work with diverse audiences of varying cultural backgrounds, ages, and abilities in a customer service environment.

  • Demonstrated ability to think imaginatively and problem solve.

  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.

  • Demonstrated ability to multitask, work effectively under pressure to meet deadlines, prioritize and adapt to changing priorities.

  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and take individual initiative while also being able to collaborate effectively and contribute positively in a team environment.

  • Ability to work a flexible schedule including weekends and holidays.

  • Ability to stand for extended periods of time.

  • Ability to bend, crouch, kneel, reach, push, and pull.

  • Ability to lift up to 25 pounds.

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Associate degree in business administration, operations, hospitality, or related field.
