Description
Hennepin County Library, ranked nationally among the top ten libraries by population, is seeking a Programming Librarian. The Library has been on the forefront of change in the last decade. Services for people of all ages bring library resources to a larger audience in an effort to increase knowledge and awareness while reducing disparities across the county.

The Programming Librarian is responsible for assisting with coordinating programs across the library system. This position will report to the Coordinating Librarian, Adult Services and will collaborate with various partners within and beyond the library to ensure successful, impactful programming for our community.

Location and hours:
This position is located at the Ridgedale Library, 12601 Ridgedale Dr.Minnetonka, MN 55305.
Work hours will be Monday through Friday, any time between the hours of 7:30 a.m. – 7:30 p.m. and Saturday 8 a.m. – 2:30 p.m.

In this position, you will:
• Develop and maintain relationships with community partners who effectively support county and library initiatives in programming and services.
• Collaborate with stakeholders and partners, establish outcomes and assessment for programming.
• Evolve the Library’s programming philosophy and processes in collaboration with Adult and Youth Services Coordinators.
• Serve as the Hennepin County Library programming liaison for the Metropolitan Library Service Agency and Legacy fund reporting requirements.
• Facilitate programming budgets; as needed, prioritize programming spending and funding requests.
• Support librarians and library managers with professional development/training on programming best practices.

Need to have:
• An ALA-accredited Master’s degree or higher and three years of professional library experience.
• Ability to travel within the Twin Cites metro area to attend events, some of which are not served by public transportation.

· Engaging and partnering with community organizations.
• Knowledge of outcomes development and assessment tools.
