JOB SPECIFICS

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: This position requires a Bachelor’s Degree in information technology or related field and three years of professional technology training or teaching experience. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.

RESPONSIBILITIES: Washington County Library is looking for a Library Technology Coordinator to help create the library of the future. The ideal candidate loves technology and fosters a love for technology in others. Tasks include coordinating and delivering comprehensive technology training to internal and external customers, educating about emerging technologies, and implementing special technology projects for the library.

DESIRABLE EXPERIENCE:
One or more years of professional experience creating training manuals and/or course materials
Professional experience leading a project across multiple teams and/or organizations
Professional experience working with emerging technologies

HOURS / DAYS: 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday. Work schedules (hours and days) and location are subject to change based on department needs.

ANTICIPATED HIRING RANGE: $58,291 – $69,071 annually

JOB SUMMARY
The Library Technology Coordinator is responsible for coordinating and delivering comprehensive high-quality technology training to internal and external customers through workshops and individual assistance. This position also educates about and advocates for emerging technologies, and implements special technology projects for the library. The Library Technology Coordinator reports to the Library Technology Manager.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Coordinate and deliver technology training to internal customers/staff:
Conduct ongoing technology training needs assessments and establish baseline technology competencies for staff;
Create, communicate, and implement a comprehensive technology training plan for staff that is aligned with Washington County Library’s strategic direction and initiatives;
Develop and implement exercises and tests to evaluate staff knowledge of the material presented; and
Make recommendations to enhance technology training program to adapt to changing technological needs and emerging technologies.

Coordinate and deliver technology training to external customers/public:
Develop and implement technology training services to address community needs;
Design and create training manuals, online learning modules, and course materials;
Provide direct training and assistance on beginner to advanced technology topics; and
Identify and leverage new opportunities to improve technology training program design, implementation, and evaluation.

Implement and maintain special technology projects:
Coordinate and support a wide-range of technologies to provide innovative services for internal and external customers;
Plan, design, test, implement, and maintain new and existing special technology projects. Examples of existing projects include digital literacy playgrounds, radio-frequency identification (RFID), strategic planning equipment, creative and collaborative spaces, virtual reality, and mobile labs; and
Develop recommendations and budgets for new technology enhancements.

Perform other duties as assigned.

Work is sedentary in nature performed within the Government Center or satellite offices. There is a lifting requirement of 15 – 20 pounds on an occasional basis. There may be frequent wrist and finger manipulation due to high concentration of filing, compiling, calculating, or computer work. No special physical effort or ability is required to perform the work. Most work is performed in a normal office environment.
