Position:
SPA seeks candidates for the position of Lower School Library Media Specialist.

Position Begins: August 2019
Status: Full-time, Exempt,
Department: Instructional Support, Lower School (grades K-5)

Job Description:
Successful candidates should possess the ability to manage an elementary school library, teach library and media skills classes to students in grades K-2 and work flexibly with homeroom and specialist teachers in grades 3-5 to support class activities and projects with lessons that build students’ independence in applying their library and media skills. Successful candidates should possess excellent interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills. Candidates should demonstrate the ability to create a nurturing and engaging environment for students, and the ability to work collaboratively with teachers, colleagues, and parents. Candidates are expected to support the mission of SPA and the vision of the Lower School, as well as to contribute to the life of the school outside the classroom in a variety of ways.

Required skills:
Preferred qualifications include a Master of Library Science degree as well as extensive experience with Follett Library System, Google Apps for Education, SMARTBoards, SeeSaw Digital Portfolio, or other productivity and research software/tools.
