General Duty Statement
Performs intermediate level professional library work such as providing reference services, serving as a staff resource, assisting customers in locating library materials, and handling immediate facility issues with maintenance staff. Assigns, directs, and addresses immediate staffing issues for the assigned work unit. Coordinates and implements collections, reference, programs, technology systems and use, and development projects for Saint Paul Public Library sites. Applies community engagement objectives in daily work activities. Performs other related duties and responsibilities as required.

Libraries has three immediate openings; (St. Anthony and Rice Street, and one location is uncertain at this time). Locations are subject to change due to the possibility of internal transfers. Additional future vacancies are anticipated during the length of this eligible list. The person holding this position must work some evenings and weekends. Please note the Library schedule and hours of operation.
Monday – Thursday – 9:00 a.m. – 8:00 p.m.
Friday – Saturday – 9:00 a.m. – 5:30 p.m.
Sunday – 1:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m.
An American Library Association (ALA) accredited Master’s Degree in Library Science is required.

Assessment: Qualifications Rating
The Qualifications Rating is an assessment of your answers to the Supplemental Questionnaire. Be as specific and detailed as possible in completing your application and any attachments.
