Acquisitions and Data Management Assistant – University of Dubuque, IA

The University of Dubuque is a growing faith based University that is seeking an Acquisitions and Data Management Assistant in the Charles C. Myers Library. Primary Responsibilities:

  • Order and process electronic materials and resources using a variety of online vendors and OCLC WorldShare, the library’s integrated library system
  • Manage the budget for library materials
  • Assist with maintenance of digital content, including the library web site, OJS (Open Journal Systems), PressBooks (WordPress), and DigitalUD (Drupal platform)
  • Manage a variety of library statistical reports using Excel and online platforms, such as Zoho
  • Provide support for the information literacy and reference program, including reference desk hours
  • Direct and oversee student assistants in the department on various projects
  • Provide support in collection management
  • Participate in library planning and committees
  • Contribute to other projects as assigned
  • Perform other duties as assigned in support of the University’s mission

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree is required
  • Commitment to service
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Excellent organizational, analytical, problem-solving, communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Exceptional computer skills with a focus on primarily Excel
  • Familiarity with OER (Open Educational Resources), data analytics, and open source software preferred
  • Ability to work effectively on a team committed to the mission of the University and the library
  • Previous library experience is preferred, particularly with the OCLC WorldShare integrated library system
