Highlights
Carrie Hartman received her BFA in Illustration from the Minneapolis College of Art & Design. Her award winning illustration work includes book illustration, editorial work, character designs for a nationally animated commercial, greeting cards, advertising, animated projects, comic books, paper designs, and murals.

Her stylish illustrations have appeared in New York Magazine, American Baby, Midwest Living, Seattle Monthly, Minneapolis – St. Paul Magazine, the Hartford Courant, St. Louis Magazine, the Star Tribune and the Baltimore Sun. Some of her clients include HGTV, Scholastic, American Greetings, Office Depot, Target, ING, Federal Reserve Bank of Boston, Nature Made Vitamins, Sterling Publishing, Encyclopedia Britannica, Lerner Publishing, and the Minnesota State Fair. Her work has received multiple industry awards including being honored by the Los Angeles Society of Illustrators. The popular picture book, My Mouth Is A Volcano, received the top award in 2006 for the best illustrated children’s book for the educational industry by the Association of Educational Publishers.

Carrie has been a member of the design faculty at the Minneapolis College of Art & Design, teaching in the illustration department, since 2004. She is also a member of the design faculty at Concordia College-St. Paul, Minnesota. She is a frequent keynote or panel speaker for children’s literature conferences, library events, book festivals and many school visits. She lives in Woodbury, Minnesota.
