Job Summary
Lead all support services provided to current students enrolled at NTC in order to identify and implement resources for student success, including library services, proctoring, tutoring, and early alert system management in the context of career and academic advising. Develop and oversee student programming to support student learning and celebrate academic milestones.

PRINCIPLE RESPONSIBILITIES

Student Support – Career and Academic Support
• Supervise, lead and direct the Student Success Center and the academic support functions of the Center, including testing services (TEAS, Accuplacer, Pearson, and others as identified), proctoring, tutoring, and library services.Staff supervised includes part-time tutors, part-time test proctor, and student employees.
• Lead and direct staff and activities, identifying objectives, action steps, and resource needs to ensure the Student Success Center effectively serves students. Assigning, directing, instructing, and remediating work of staff to meet deadlines and stay within budget.
• Function as the primary resource and liaison to current students experiencing challenges affecting their enrollment that may include grade appeals, academic misconduct, attendance, health related issues, financial issues, and complaints in order to identify the best option for resolution and support.
• Manage the Early Alert system including coordinating appropriate intervention strategies, referral for services, and reporting to faculty/staff.
• Collaborate with staff from the American Indian Resource Center and Center for Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion on programming and support services.
• Develop and oversee student programming to support student learning and celebrate academic milestones.

Library Operations
• Perform Circulation duties in the charging and discharging of NTC library materials and equipment, including the issuance of overdue and fine notices, shelving materials and participating in the compilation of statistics for inventory purposes.
• Answer ready reference questions; provide library instruction on the use of the on-line catalog and databases.
• Process ILL requests.
• Maintain and care of library inventory including books, videos, newspapers, magazines, and other library inventory.
• Assist Librarian with software upgrades, purchasing, and adherence to library policy and procedures.

Student Advising
• Advise students in the areas of career, financial aid and other student servicesincluding referrals as needed to other college service providers
• Develop education plans for students with limited English proficiency.
• Advise the Health Sciences Broad Field students.
• Provide appreciative/supplemental coaching/advising to enrolled students as it relates to registration and progress towards degree.

Campus community
• Build and strengthen relationships with academic affairs, enrollment management, program managers, faculty and staff. Participate in regular staff meetings. Participate in work group discussions and decision-making. Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
• Excellent administrative, communication, and public relations skills.
• Experience assisting students overcome barriers to program completion.
• Experience in career and/or academic development or advising.
• 1+ years’ experience providing work direction for multiple employees.
• Knowledge and interest in diverse cultures and populations.
• Ability to set priorities, use analytical reasoning, and integrate results into meaningful program activities.
• Experience in college student development.

Preferred Qualifications:
• Working knowledge of automated library system, (ALEPH/ALMA) inventory control systems, such as those required in the operation of a library, to track the status of requisitions, contracts, and orders Experience with test proctoring, and tutoring services.
• Experience with supervisory functions including performance management, goal setting, and assessment.
• Experience with federal, state and Minnesota State policies, procedures, and regulations
