Salary Range CG IH: $19.07 – $24.30/hour depending upon qualifications plus benefits

12 months, 100% time

Job Responsibilities:  The purpose of this position is to maintain, troubleshoot, and support library technologies, assist users, and provide training on technology and software to library employees and patrons. The employee in this position will be expected to research and stay up to date with current technology trends to identify and implement new library hardware, software, and applications. A proactive service attitude will be essential in this role.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

Knowledge of:

  • Computer hardware and software
  • Servers, networking, and security
  • IT and software trends
  • Remote support software

Skill & Ability to:

  • Diagnose and resolve hardware and software issues
  • Use strong communication skills to explain technical information clearly to users with varying technology skills
  • Write clear, concise, and accurate emails, reports, and procedures
  • Work independently and as part of a team
  • Learn new technologies and use problem solving skills to resolve system and software issues
  • Prioritize job duties to meet competing deadlines

Comments:  Knowledge of and experience with hardware, software and troubleshooting is required. Experience working in a library/educational setting, providing user support, project management, training, and planning/managing technology purchases is preferred. Typical working hours are Monday-Friday 8:00AM – 5:00PM. Some evening and weekend hours may be necessary. SDSU is a tobacco free environment.
