Research Specialist – Gray Plant Mooty

Gray Plant Mooty, a prominent national law firm, is currently seeking a Research Specialist for our Minneapolis office.   The Research Specialist will provide high quality, quick-turnaround, ready reference and research assistance to attorneys and staff.  Responsibilities will also include daily planning and management of firm intranet content and layout, including investigating and writing web stories and providing in-depth coverage of firm’s top stories, including firm and client related news.  The specialist will deliver current awareness information to attorneys and staff including docket alerts, news alerts, delivery of newsletters and other information used to support current and potential clients.  The Research Specialist will also manage the firm’s history collection of documents, photographs and library resources.  In addition, experience with SharePoint will be highly desirable to help develop new web pages, improve functionality and assist content editors and authors in best practices and analyzing and reporting on SharePoint usage and activity.

The Research Specialist will be able to manage multiple projects in a fast paced environment; will have exceptional writing skills and the ability to discern critical facts, trends and data most relevant to patrons.   Familiarity with legal research vendor products and basic competitive intelligence sources preferred.  The specialist must have well developed and professional interpersonal skills; ability to interact effectively with people at all organizational levels of the firm; ability to work in a team environment with a client service focus.  The specialist will have the ability to prioritize workload and solve problems quickly.  Bachelor’s degree required and two years of library related experience preferred. Strong technical skills and familiarity with SharePoint is highly desirable.
