Reference and Research Law Librarian – Mitchell Hamline School of Law

Status: Full Time – Temporary Position

The primary purpose of the Reference and Research Law Librarian is to provide reference, research, and instructional services to law students, law faculty, and other library patrons by working with them to demonstrate legal research strategies and database searching techniques. The Reference and Research Law Librarian will provide reference and research services daily and will participate in evening and weekend rotations. Additionally, this position will serve as a law library liaison to law faculty, participate in reference and library team meetings, prepare new and update existing research guides, forms, and manuals in digital format, and perform other duties as assigned or required.

Qualifications: A J.D. degree from an ABA accredited law school is required. In addition, a Master’s degree in Library Science or M.L.I.S. from an ALA accredited college or university is preferred. Two (2) or more years of experience in an academic law library related to the above described duties preferred, although strongly related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.
