Job Summary
Under general supervision, the Records Management Consultant collaborates with members of the department to implement and maintain the records management program at the company. The role is responsible for making sure all departments and offices appropriately manage the creation, storage, retrieval, use and disposition of records according to records management policies and procedures. Also responsible for overseeing assigned RIM systems, applications, databases, vendor products, etc. in order to ensure compliance with records management policies and procedures. This job works under Moderate Supervision: Incumbent performs standard and routine assignments independently to conclusion; unusual problems which may require exceptions to procedures or processes are referred to the manager.

Primary Job Duties & Responsibilities
This position works daily with FileNet and other content management systems. Tasks will include consulting with business areas and Global Technology on new requests and changes to content management systems to ensure records compliance. Specifically, candidate will be documenting changes, performing quality audits, testing system updates, and processing data disposals. Researches impact on records management from technologies: Cloud, Box, SharePoint, Yammer, etc. Actively participates in the development and direction of re-examining and re-engineering internal processes and systems to achieve records management objectives. Partners with management, systems analysts, programmers, customers and other consultants on best practices in system design and implementation of initiatives that will improve records management processes. Provides support to all areas of the company with the implementation of records management processes and system. Assists in and/or manages various projects that will improve records management processes. Provides consultation service to all areas of the company in responding to questions, solving problems, related to the records management program of the company. Develops and prepares statistical reports on all phases of the records and information program as required. Maintains an intermediate understanding of the various aspects of the RIM program (retention schedules, legal holds, destruction, etc.).

Minimum Qualifications
Associates Degree required. Minimum of 1 year of experience in insurance or records management or information systems or related field. Requires general knowledge and experience with personal computers and software applications, including Windows, Word, Access and Excel. For Technical track; requires comprehensive knowledge. Must be able to work closely with others as part of a team while, at the same time, be able to take full responsibility for a task with little or no direction. Advanced oral and written and interpersonal communication skills for dealing with a wide variety of customers. Must have demonstrated strong planning, organizing skills. Must be comfortable with speaking, presenting, and working with all levels of employees. Ability to influence others outside of department.

Education, Work Experience & Knowledge
Bachelor’s Degree with emphasis in records management, library science and/or computer technology.
