Qualifications

Required Qualifications:
• Master of Library Science or equivalent degree
• 1+ years of health science experience in a librarian or reference management role
• Exceptional oral and written communication skills

Preferred Qualifications:
• Expertise with Mendeley reference management software
• Experience using REDCap database software, multiple reference management platforms, and online collaboration software such as Wrike
• Experience conducting rapid literature reviews and/or systematic literature reviews

About the Job
The Prevention of Lower Urinary tract Symptoms (PLUS) Consortium, sponsored by the National Institutes of Health (NIH), is a group of eight universities working together to identify promising strategies for promoting bladder health and preventing lower urinary tract symptoms and conditions in women throughout the lifecourse. The University of Minnesota serves as the Scientific Data Coordinating Center (SDCC) for the consortium. The SDCC is based in the Division of Biostatitsics in the School of Public Health.

Through reference-based work, the PLUS Research Librarian participates in and supports all areas of PLUS Consortium research activities. The PLUS Research Librarian creates efficiency in consortium research projects through targeted, health-related literature searches, literature reviews, and dissemination management. This literature-based work will accelerate consortium productivity to create the necessary evidence base for future intervention studies for the prevention of lower urinary tract symptoms in women.

Essential Functions:

Rapid and Systematic reviews (60% of job)
• Design, plan, evaluate and summarize literature searches for both rapid and systematic reviews
• Intellectual contribution to the synthesis and writing of manuscripts associated with rapid and systematic reviews
• Meet with researchers, design and execute search strategies & organize citation data
• Oversee/develop systematic review training and support programing
• Manage program metrics and provide assessment of service

Consortium Dissemination Support (40% of job)
• Evaluate, develop, modify dissemination infrastructure and procedures for consortium
• Maintain documentation and improve work flows
• Support Mendeley utilization for dissemination products of the consortium (training and reference management), including facilitating researcher collaborations
• Create and curate metadata for PLUS dissemination products
• Assist the consortium’s Dissemination Committee with management of manuscript reviews
• Provide light editorial support of manuscripts and abstracts for terminology consistency and formatting
