Metadata Developer/Quality Analyst – UnitedHealth Group

Position Description
The primary responsibility of a Metadata developer is to develop and maintain the application metadata along with test the application.  The job duties include code inspections, peer reviews, white-box testing and other forms of engineering excellence. It is a unique and challenging role that calls for a strong passion for quality and technology excellence. It combines the ‘building’ aspect of software development with the ‘testing’ part of quality assurance.

Primary Responsibilities:
• Develop and test Application metadata
• Develop technical specifications and design documents for application metadata development
• Gather and analyze business requirements
• Review logic, criteria and definitions to incorporate into data models to extract functional data sets for reporting
• Consultative to business owners
• Actively participate analyst meetings
• Works with business owners to research root cause and communicate improvement recommendations
• Work collaboratively with team and business owners
• Provides assistance on technical matters and act as a significant information resource
• Participant in cross functional initiatives
• Understanding of metadata structures including experience working with metadata scheme and structure

Requirements
To be considered for this position, applicants need to meet the qualifications listed in this posting.
Required Qualifications:
• 3 – 5 years’ experience in the IT industry with hands-on continuous work experience in testing end to end Business Intelligence solutions (ETL, reports, dashboards, scorecards)
• Minimum 1 year of primary experience with Database development using SQL Server

Preferred Qualifications:
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Bachelor’s degree
• Excellent listening and interpersonal skills (includes but not limited to peers, managers, and the business)
• Strong analytical and problem resolution skill
• Excellent organizational skills to manage a wide array of testing information
