We are a district that serves over 6,000 students and employs 725 employees in a northwestern suburb of Minneapolis, Minnesota. Our district is comprised of one primary school for kindergarten students, three elementary schools for grades 1-4, two middle schools for grades 5-8, and one high school for grades 9-12.
Position Overview & Responsibilities
Develop and implement a comprehensive library media program that provides information and technology literacy skills instruction; lead, collaborate, and consult with classroom teachers for the purpose of integrating information and technology literacy skills with content teaching, and to administer media center operations, programming, and resources. FTE: 1.0
Contract: 186 days – this position is covering a 3 year extended leave of absence
Requirements & Qualifications
Requires a library media specialist certification as determined by the State of Minnesota; extensive knowledge and skills in teaching and learning using technology; extensive and current knowledge of and commitment to children’s, young adult and adult literature; previous teaching experience preferred.
