The School Library Media Specialist provides the leadership and expertise necessary to develop, implement, and maintain an information media program that reflects the mission, goals, and objectives of the school and district. The Library Media Specialist (1) collaborates and consults with teachers for the purpose of integrating technology and information literacy skills into subject matter instruction, (2) provides technology and information literacy skills instruction to PK-12 students, and (3) administers media center operations, programming, and resources.

Requirements:
• Must hold a valid Library Media Specialist license or be enrolled in the program leading to Library Media Specialist licensure – Additionally, Computer, Keyboarding and Related Technology Applications Endorsement preferred
• Knowledge of ISTE standards
• Knowledge of 21st Century Skills
• Experience teaching media and technology skills
• Experience maintaining a PreK-12 library collection
• Strong interpersonal, relationship and collaborative skills
• Knowledge of and experience using best practices in teaching and learning
• Knowledge of and experience using current digital tools and resources
• Knowledge of and experience using informational resources in a variety of formats
• Knowledge of and experience integrating 21st century skills and strategies into subject matter curriculum
• Knowledge of ethical and lawful practices in the use of print and electronic resources
• Skill in all aspects of library media center management and operations
• Evidence of sound written and oral communication skills
• Evidence of leadership, facilitation, and organizational skills
• Experience and interest in working with a diverse student population
• Evidence of a strong commitment to service
• Ability to think innovatively and work collaboratively with a team
• Ability to be flexible and adaptable
• Ability to be welcoming, positive, and considerate toward others
