Library Director
The City of Austin is seeking an innovative and passionate individual to lead our public library in the delivery of outstanding services and programs for our community. The director will provide leadership for all day to day operations, including personnel, planning and evaluating the budget, collection development, building maintenance, library operations and services along with providing direct assistance to patrons. The successful candidate will engage with community leaders and other stakeholders to build strong relationships.
Minimum qualifications include a Master’s degree in Library Science from an American Library Association accredited college or university; three (3) to five (5) years of professional librarian experience, including two years in a demonstrated leadership or supervisory capacity. Previous experience as a public library director is preferred.
