Responsibilities:
South Central College (SCC) invites applicants for a full-time Librarian to begin January 2, 2018 or as soon as possible. The position will support both SCC campuses located in North Mankato and Faribault MN with a primary base on the North Mankato campus.

Examples of Duties:
• Provides vision and leadership in the development of library planning process, budgets, and operational practices for the library
• Provides formal information literacy instruction as requested by faculty and administration, including instruction in library orientation, the research process, evaluating sources and assistance with specific research projects
• Provides reference assistance to students, faculty and staff, instructing individuals in the use of library and internet resources
• Maintains the library website and access points to electronic resources
• Initiates, coordinates and assess services that support student success
• Collaborates with the staff of the faculty development center, Learning Central, to support faculty development initiatives
• Works collaboratively with all areas of the campus to provide high quality library services for on-campus and online students
• Utilizes technology to create efficiencies in process and/or library services
• Travel among campuses (North Mankato and Faribault)

Minimum Qualifications:
• Master’s degree in Library Science or equivalent degree

Preferred Qualifications:
• Previous experience in a professional or academic library setting
• Demonstrated experience interacting with stakeholders (i.e. faculty and students) to develop library services
• Demonstrated ability to build partnerships and collaborate with internal and external entities
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills as well as the ability to deal tactfully with diverse populations in a positive, courteous, and helpful manner
• Strong problem solving skills sufficient to identify and clarify problem or issue to prepare and execute possible solutions under the direction of a supervisor
• Demonstrated experience building and supporting positive and successful teams
• Knowledge about the creation of library budgets and procedures for maintaining currency and relevancy in the collection
• Possess leadership skills to work with Library Technicians and work study on circulation and technical services
