POSITION ANNOUNCEMENT

Librarian
Temporary Part-Time Position- Spring semester 2017
Temporary Librarian (Unclassified MSCF-CC Faculty)
Rochester, MN

Responsibilities:

Goddard Library seeks an energetic, proactive, and innovative person to work with a variety of library assignments including bibliographic instruction, technology projects, reference, collection development, and other academic library responsibilities.

The ideal candidate will have a broad range of skills for academic library work to include working with online library resources, teaching information literacy, and collection development. The candidate will have the ability to work independently, collaboratively, and creatively in a rapidly changing environment.

This faculty position includes some nights and follows the academic calendar with spring semester ending on May 10, 2017. Hours may vary and additional work may be available during the summer of 2017.

Goddard library serves both Rochester Community & Technical College and the Rochester campus of Winona State University.

 

Minimum Qualifications:
• Master’s degree in Library Science from an ALA-accredited institution.

Preferred Qualifications:
• Experience working as a librarian in an academic library
• Reference, collection development, and instruction experience
• Knowledge of, and interest in, diverse cultures and populations
• Able to demonstrate strong teamwork skills
• Familiarity with online instruction and outreach activities
• Ability to work proactively with library patrons, faculty, and staff
• Ability to handle multiple priorities and projects; demonstrated evidence of initiative and self-direction
