JOB DETAILS:
We are seeking an energetic individual with a commitment to library support of undergraduate teaching and research. This position is responsible for providing instruction and reference services in conjunction with the Instruction and Reference Work Groups. This position will have primary responsibility for refreshing LibGuides to enhance campus teaching and research.

QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum:
– ALA accredited master’s degree in Library/Information Science.
– Demonstrated ability to design, organize and teach instruction sessions.
– Training or experience providing reference services.
– Knowledge and experience in Microsoft Office Suite, databases and the web.
– Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with other employees, students, faculty, and staff.
– Ability to prioritize and organize workload effectively.
– Effective written and oral communication skills.
– Exceptional customer service skills.

Preferred:
– Training or experience providing reference services in academic environment.
– Training or experience in writing or editing instructional materials.
– Training or experience in multi-media software.

RESPONSIBILITIES
Teach, promote, and evaluates library instruction for one-shot sessions in support of undergraduate teaching and research. Designs, produces and maintains web-based learning aids (LibGuides) in collaboration with other librarians. Shares in the daily and evening reference desk rotation. Participates in library public relations.

This position is a 10-month emergency hire position from August 22, 2016 through June 30, 2017.
