Examples of Duties:
• Coordinate the Library acquisitions program.
• Establish direction and oversee the daily operation of acquisitions, including the operation of the online acquisitions system.
• Collaborate with other librarians and college staff in developing the collection to meet the needs of our patrons.
• Select resources according to reviews and recommendations from our patrons.
• Compare selections with library catalog and orders-in-process to avoid duplication.
• Assign and direct the work of the Library Technicians performing acquisitions tasks.
• Organize, develop & oversee procedures & operation for acquiring Library materials.
• Implement the library’s instruction/information literacy program in collaboration with faculty and other college personnel.
• Design, deliver, and evaluate instruction in person and online (synchronous & asynchronous) using best practices for learning, teaching, and information literacy.
• Collaborate with others and work individually to produce a variety of informational and instructional materials.
Qualifications:
Minimum Qualifications
• Master’s degree in library science or equivalent degree.
Preferred Qualifications
• Formal training in library instruction, educational technology, instructional technology, and/or instructional design demonstrated through coursework, certificate, or advanced degree.
• Experience with library vendors and/or budgeting.
• Experience providing library instruction.
