Executive Director, East Central Regional Library (Cambridge, MN), 40 hours per week:
East Central Regional Library (ECRL) has a vacancy for the position of Executive Director of a 6-county consolidated public library system in east central Minnesota which operates 14 branches and outreach services. The Executive Director reports to an 18 member Board of elected officials and appointed citizens representing the six counties which are Signatories to the East Central Regional Library Agreement. This position is for 40 hours per week. ECRL is a consolidated regional library system with 14 branches.
Qualifications
Required:
- A Master’s degree in library/information science from an ALA-accredited program.
- 5-7 years of increasingly responsible professional library experience, including four years in an administrative position.
- At least two years of public library administrative experience.
- Demonstrated ability in: library administration and operations to include working with an automated library system, financial planning, personnel administration, and community and intergovernmental relations.
- Supervisory experience: demonstrated ability to make sound management decision and exercise good judgement dealing with people and situations.
- Experience in technology planning.
- The ability to attend various meetings throughout the region and state.
- A valid driver’s license, be eligible for one, or have own access to transportation.
- Must successfully pass a criminal background check.
Preferred:
- 4-5 years administrative experience working in a regional public library system.
- Experience in strategic planning.
- Experience in external fund raising.
Excellent opportunity for a library administrator with proven skills in financial development, marketing, program development, staff and community relations, and technology development within a $3.1 million budget. Facility includes 14 branch libraries and outreach services, served by 80 staff (31 FTE’s). Executive Director supervises seven professional staff. The ECRL Headquarters is located in Cambridge, MN (Isanti County) about 50 miles north of Minneapolis. Headquarters is open 40 hours per week, Monday-Friday.
