POSITION: Education Program Administrator II

SALARY: $3899 per month with full state benefits (including fully paid premium for single or family health insurance plan; retirement; annual paid leave (12 sick days, 10 holidays & 12 annual leave days))

Summary of Work
Provide development and technical assistance to libraries throughout North Dakota, primarily to school libraries and youth services staff of public libraries. Assist librarians with developing plans, policies, and procedures; and provide guidance on library services. Coordinate dissemination of information and activities related to the Collaborative Summer Library Program. Facilitate communication between Youth Services Librarians. Research trends in school libraries and youth services. Assist school librarians with certification questions. Develop resource materials for librarians and library staff. Participate in training initiatives provided by the State Library. Participate in department activities and professional development with an emphasis on school libraries and public library youth services. Work closely with other Library Development Specialists and State Library staff as part of a team. Use personal computers and software applications in the areas of library science and general office work.

Approximately 20% of time will be spent in travel.

Minimum Qualifications
The successful candidate will possess either an ALA accredited MLS or Masters of Education plus have two years of professional library experience. Must possess a valid drivers license.

Preferred Qualifications
Ability to communicate effectively with others. Ability to provide professional consultation, professional services and staff development within public and school libraries. Possess experience working with Educational Standards. Possess work experience as a youth services librarian or a school media specialist.
