SALARY:    $4,925.00 monthly minimum; commensurate with experience

STATUS & HOURS: Full-time, regular (approximately 2,088 annual hours) position.

DESCRIPTION:  This position exists to manage and promote the MNHS brand by serving as the final authority on design. The Creative Manager proactively directs creative design for all communications vehicles, and positions and manages the MNHS brand by developing and leading design implementation of integrated marketing and communications programs in all mediums that portray the MNHS brand to the public.

SUMMARY OF WORK:  1) Develop and lead implementation of marketing and communications vehicles for MNHS and all of its entities, working closely with marketing and communications staff; 2) Design and produce marketing materials, working with writers, designers, photographers and printers; 3) Direct creative design for all communications vehicles created for MNHS ensuring the brand is communicated clearly and consistently; 4) Manage and coordinate annual and long-range work plans; 5) Provide overall direction for hiring, training, supervision, and motivation for staff, interns, and volunteers, and ensure overall compliance with MNHS policies and procedures; and 6) Serve as catalyst for proactive change, ensuring that MNHS uses the latest and most effective design to market and communicate its services to the public.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree is design or related field.

  • Expert knowledge of design methods and standards.

  • Expert knowledge of and be proficient in the use of the Adobe Creative Cloud graphic design suite (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop)
  • Proficient pre-press skills
  • Demonstrated ability to transform goals into tangible products.

  • Experience in print, web and broadcast design.

  • Proven track record in developing, implementing and adhering to work plans, budgets and proposals.

  • Understanding of marketing and public relations fields.

  • Demonstrated leadership to supervise the work of others and mentor staff.

  • Demonstrated ability to work well under pressure and meet tight deadlines.

  • Confidence and strong oral communications skills necessary to lead brand management with diverse groups within the organization.

  • Demonstrated ability to work in a team atmosphere.

  • Attention to detail in managing timelines and budgets.

  • Demonstrated ability to work successfully with diverse groups of people.

  • Demonstrated ability to think imaginatively and problem solve.

  • Ability to lift up to 20 pounds.

  • Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel.

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Experience in product development.

  • Experience in Agile project management.

  • At least ten years experience in design with specific managerial experience leading designers within a large organization.
