Community Archivist, Chalmer Davee Library, University of Wisconsin-River Falls

Full-time academic staff position. The Community Archivist works with the University Archivist and Records Manager to manage the daily operation of the University Archives and Area Research Center.  This position provides research and reference services, including instruction and outreach; processes and catalogs collections; and assists with student worker hiring and supervision. This position also serves as a liaison to designated academic and administrative departments, participates in collection development activities for assigned areas, and works with library colleagues to develop a vision for implementing creative services and utilizing emerging technologies to meet the changing needs and expectations of our users.

Qualifications required: Master’s degree in library and information science with an emphasis on archival studies by start of appointment; knowledge of archival processing techniques; knowledge of emerging technologies in libraries and how they impact the needs and expectations of users; ability to plan, manage, and oversee projects; demonstrated ability to work collaboratively; demonstrated ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.

Preferred: Experience processing archival collections; library or archives reference experience; cataloging experience.
