Communications and Digital Services Director – Saint Paul Public Library

This position will provide strategic and day-to-day oversight of communication, external relations and digital services, including the digital library. The ideal candidate will have significant experience in all aspects of communications, public relations, management and leadership, collaboration, and demonstrated cultural competence with a commitment to racial equity. This position is a member of the senior management team of the Saint Paul Public Library and reports to the Library Director.

Performs highly-responsible supervisory, administrative and professional work to plan, organize and direct communications, external relations and electronic services for the Saint Paul Public Library Agency. Creates and implements strategic plans pertaining to public relations and communications efforts, community digital initiatives and digital library services offered by the SPPLA. Oversees the management of and in some cases directly manages grant-funded programs and works with the Friends of the Saint Paul Public Library on grant applications. Directs department wide project efforts and coordinates projects with other departments, divisions or agencies. Represents the Saint Paul Public Library Agency’s interests to a wide variety of public and private agencies. Acts as a primary contact to the Friends of the Saint Paul Public Library, representing the library on programming and fundraising initiatives. Performs other related duties and responsibilities as required.
