Hours of Work: Various – shifts may vary between Sunday-Saturday, 7.45 a.m. and 11:15 p.m.

Job Responsibilities:
Provide instruction and technical assistance to faculty, students, staff, and community members using the computer equipment in the Library. Respond to inquiries regarding hardware, software, and library resources and university services. Manage the daily operations and security of the 103 public access computers, 12 wireless laptops, and library classroom in the Library & Learning Center. Provide maintenance on equipment. Install new hardware and software. Supervise student workers at the Information Commons Desk.

Minimum Qualifications:
The following qualifications are required of all applicants seeking consideration for this position. Only applicants whose resumes clearly demonstrate fulfillment of each of these minimum qualifications will be considered for the position:
A. Associate or higher degree in related field AND One year of teaching/tutoring experience at the high school level or above.

OR

B. Three years of work experience in computer applications where no degree/certificate/diploma/licensure is required.

OR

C. An equivalent combination of education and work experience.

Preferred Qualifications:
• Demonstrated ability to make minor repairs and perform routine maintenance on hardware; troubleshoot software problems and document processes.
• Excellent customer service skills are needed in order to serve the customer in a positive, calm, courteous, and efficient manner.
• Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing in the English language sufficient to determine and respond to the informational needs of clients with varied educational, complexity levels, and diverse backgrounds.
• Experience in training, directing, assessing, and assigning the work of student employees.
• Experience working within a team environment.
• Demonstrated ability to work with culturally, economically, and linguistically diverse clients and workforce.
• Current working knowledge and understanding of computer hardware and software supported by Metropolitan State University is highly desired (e.g. MS Office applications, Windows 7).
• Basic knowledge and/or experience with Apple and PC computers.

Physical Requirements of the Job: Requires occasionally lifting such articles as file boxes and heavy hand tools or heavier materials with help from others and/or lifting and carrying light objects frequently. Even though the weights being lifted may only be a negligible amount, a job in this category may require walking or standing to a significant degree or may involve sitting most of the time with a degree of pushing and pulling of arm and or leg controls.

Salary Range: $17.03 – $23.79/hour depending upon experience and qualifications
