The Marshall-Lyon County Library is accepting applications for one (1) part-time Collection Assistant position. This position works under the direct supervision of the Public Services Manager. The Collection Assistants do most of the materials handling at the Library, including checking in and sorting returned materials and delivery from other libraries. They are also responsible for the majority of new material processing. Secondarily, they provide back-up at the main circulation desk and work on materials-related projects. While much of the work is done in a staff workroom, the position does interact with customers through a service desk and in the stacks. The successful candidate will have outstanding interpersonal skills, a strong desire to help people, robust technology skills and a general understanding of public library operations.
