JOB SUMMARY
Under the direction of the Branch Manager, the Circulation Supervisor plans, organizes and supervises all personnel and activities associated with circulation of library materials and maintaining records of the collection for one or more library branches.

TYPICAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
•Direct and supervise circulation, inter-library loan, and shelving staff in the Carver County Library System. This includes but is not limited to; hiring, promoting or transferring of staff, assigning work, completion of performance reviews, provide rewards and verbal or written discipline including suspension, up to and including termination.

•Responds to Step I grievances with the authority to settle grievances on behalf of the County.

•Serve as a system wide resource person for library clerical staff and a communication liaison between branch staff and county library administration in circulation policies and procedures.

•Supervise cash handling procedures and circulation budget related items in library branch.

•Supervise the maintenance of branch collection including periodicals

•Maintain office supply and equipment inventories.

•Prepare and analyze statistical and technical reports related to circulation.

•Manage building issues in coordination with branch manager.

•Other comparable or like duties as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
• Bachelor’s degree (BA/BS) in Management, Public Administration, Library Science, Information Technology or other related field; and

• Three (3) years of work experience with a library system, an administrative role, retail or related experience; or

• Equivalent combination of education and experience; and

• Three (3) years of supervisory experience providing leadership or work direction to staff.

MN driver’s license and/or evidence of equivalent mobility.

SCORED EXAMINATION PROCESS
All applications will be screened for minimum qualifications, scored and ranked. The highest ranked candidates meeting minimum qualifications will be recommended for the scored oral examinations (interviews). Final selection for the position will include successful completion of oral interview(s) and background investigation.
