Children’s Program Librarian – Northfield Public Library

The Northfield Public Library is seeking a motivated, innovative, and energetic librarian who enjoys working with youth and families to bring the joy of reading and the excitement of books & learning to our vibrant and welcoming college community.

This full-time position will develop, grow and publicize our extensive children’s programming for youth ages 0-16 with a focus on early literacy.

Job duties include program development and implementation, publicity (including social media) and collaboration, outreach to the community including occasional bookmobile programs using our new Sprinter van and library BookBike!

MINIMUM TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
Bachelor’s degree (Master’s Preferred) in Library Science, Education, or a related field, with prior experience in the development and conduct of programs for children, or any combination of education and/or experience that provides equivalent knowledge, skills and abilities will be considered.

STARTING SALARY: $50,243 per year with an excellent benefit package

HOURS OF WORK: Normal business/office hours are from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday. This position requires flexibility within library open hours including nights and weekends, early morning and evening programming, regular (monthly) Saturday and Sunday hours.
