Branch Librarian II, North Branch Area Library, 40 hours per week:

East Central Regional Library (ECRL) has a vacancy for the position of Branch Librarian II to oversee the operation of a medium-large branch library in North Branch, MN.  This position is for 40 hours per week. ECRL is a consolidated regional library system with 14 branches.  A Bachelor’s Degree, up to date technology skills and three years related experience is required.  MLS/MLIS or similar library certification or advanced library training is preferred.  Candidates must have demonstrated creativity and vision to provide modern public library service; ability and willingness to work independently; above average communication skills; excellent customer service skills; and the ability and willingness to lead a library team of staff and volunteers.  Salary range is $16.47 – 22.53 per hour with paid health insurance, PTO and PERA.  Review of applications begins July 9, 2018 and continues until filled. The North Branch Area Library is located in North Branch, MN (Chisago County) about 50 miles north of St. Paul on the junction of Interstate 35 and Minnesota State Hwy. 95.  The branch is open 6 days per week, Monday – Saturday, for a total of 54 hours per week.  The Branch Librarian is employed for 40 hours per week and supervises four Branch Assistants.  The library has about 3,500 visitors per month and 6,350 checkouts per month.  North Branch ranks 3rd of the 14 branches in ECRL service statistics.  The North Branch Library has an active Friends group and receives excellent community support.
