Branch Librarian II, Chisago Lakes Area Library, 40 hours per week:

East Central Regional Library (ECRL) has a vacancy for the position of Branch Librarian II to oversee the operation of a medium-large branch library in Chisago Lakes, MN.  This position is for 40 hours per week. ECRL is a consolidated regional library system with 14 branches.  A Bachelor’s Degree, up to date technology skills and three years related experience is required.  MLS/MLIS or similar library certification or advanced library training is preferred.  Candidates must have demonstrated creativity and vision to provide modern public library service; ability and willingness to work independently; above average communication skills; excellent customer service skills; and the ability and willingness to lead a library team of staff and volunteers.  Salary range is $18.76 – 26.27 per hour with paid health insurance, partially paid dental insurance, PTO and PERA.  Review of applications begins September 16, 2019 and continues until filled. The Chisago Lakes Area Library is one of 14 branches of the East Central Regional Library System.  The Chisago Lakes Branch is open 6 days per week for a total of 50 hours per week.  The library has about 4,250 visitors per month and 6,900 checkouts per month.  Chisago Lakes ranks 2nd of the 14 branches for all ECRL use statistics.  Located on Highway 8 between Chisago City and Lindstrom, the 12,000 sq ft library was opened in 2005.  The library features a cozy reading area with fireplace, a large community room, several small study rooms, fun children’s area with play space and expansive views of surrounding wetland.  The library has an active Friends group and receives excellent community support.
