School Visits

K-1:  Where Do You Get Your Ideas? This is a fun interactive musical storytime focusing on the back-story of many of Stephen picture books.

2-3:  Stephen creates a character with students and uses that character to show the process of writing and illustrating graphic novels.

4-5:  Stephen creates a character with students and uses that character to show the process of writing and illustrating graphic novels with lots of time for students to ask questions.

Stephen Shaskan and his wife/author Trisha Speed Shaskan also visit schools together where they discuss the writing and illustration process of creating their picture book Punk Skunks and their graphic novel series, Q & Ray. As the grade levels increase, the presentations contain a greater level of detail about the process of creating the book. For each presentation, Trisha and Stephen do an interactive group activity.
