Highlights
I have always loved words, hearing and feeling melody, texture and form in what I read and write. Writing is my deepest means of self-expression and connecting with a reader has become a great satisfaction. Yet my emergence as a writer was fraught with some difficulty. In early childhood I struggled with dyslexia and navigated the waters of adolescence with less than steady confidence. Today in my work as an instructor in Hamline University’s Master of Fine Arts in Writing for Children and Young Adults and as a writer, I continue to grow through my interactions with students and readers.
