POSITION DESCRIPTION:
The Medtronic Knowledge Center, located at our operational headquarters in Fridley Minnesota, seeks an Associate Technical Information Specialist to support projects and initiatives within operations and client services. The ideal candidate will have strong organizational, planning, and problem-solving skills. This role will provide numerous opportunities for individual project work with potential flexibility into other information or knowledge management roles. It is a temporary, full time, competitively paid position requiring availability during the M- F workday, starting in November 2018, ending in December 2019, with potential for longer term employment. This is a great opportunity to gain library experience in a corporate knowledge center.

POSITION SUMMARY AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Assist with content acquisition processes including collecting and capturing usage statistics, entering information into the procurement system, processing payments, and documentation.
• Maintain and update the library collection in several online systems to ensure acquisition information is accurate and up-to-date.
• Answer information requests; responding to employees and connecting them to internal experts or external resources.
• Understand how copyright laws pertain to literature use within Medtronic.
• Provide support services as needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
• Experience in Word and Excel
• Experience working in a variety of online systems

REQUIRED EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE
• Bachelor’s Degree

DESIRED OR PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
• Master of Library and Information Science degree in process or complete
• Experience working in a biomedical or technical environment
• Experience in library technical services
• Customer service experience
• Demonstrated attention to detail
• High degree of accuracy in detail-oriented environment
• Excellent organizational skills
• Ability to prioritize tasks and maintain accurate records
• Ability to work under tight deadlines
• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively
• Evidence of strong interpersonal and communication skills
