POSITION DESCRIPTION:

The Medtronic Knowledge Center, located at our operational headquarters in Fridley, Minnesota, seeks a Corporate Library Associate (Contractor) to support projects and initiatives within operations and client services.  The ideal candidate will have experience with customer service and digitization projects and possess strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.  This role will provide numerous opportunities for individual project work with potential flexibility into other information or knowledge management roles.  It is a temporary, part-time position (about 20 hours per week) requiring in-person availability during the M- F workday, starting November 2021, ending April 2022, with potential for longer term employment. This is a great opportunity to gain library experience in a corporate knowledge center.   

POSITION SUMMARY AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 

  • Use shared inbox and request log to triage and answer information requests, especially pertaining to the Knowledge Center’s Technical Development programs.
  • Maintain and update the Library’s Market Research Report collection.
  • Support the Medtronic Archive with projects as needed, such as filing, scanning, and data entry.
  • Provide editorial proof-reading, publishing, and assistance with technical communications.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Experience with Microsoft Products – Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and OneNote
  • Experience working in a variety of online systems
  • Reference work or customer service experience 

REQUIRED EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE   

  • Bachelor’s Degree

DESIRED OR PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience in library technical services
  • Master of Library and Information Science degree in progress or intended  
  • Evidence of strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Demonstrated attention to detail 
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and maintain accurate records
  • Ability to work under tight deadlines
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively
  • Experience with SharePoint
