Dakota County Library is currently seeking an Administrative Coordinator to support the Dakota County Library at the administrative offices located in Eagan.

This position assists the Department Director to coordinate and analyze departmental activities, manage operational projects, and prepare, maintain, recommend and implement improvements to division or departmental policies and procedures, supports and coordinates key divisional/departmental management meetings.
Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Public Administration, or Communication AND
· Minimal three years of office management or project management experience
OR
· An equivalent combination of education and experience.

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE BEYOND MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
· Progressively increased experience and responsibility in office management in a government setting.
· Library Experience

Duties & Responsibilities

1. Assist Library Director with planning, research, analysis, and reporting of Library projects; makes recommendations; prepares and disseminates reports.
2. Collect, analyze, and disseminate divisional or departmental management indicators and outcome measures.
3. Serve as Library’s liaison with Employee Relations and Open Enrollment:
· Schedules and organizes new hire orientation to the Library System.
· Coordinates with Facilities Management concerning employee security badges and access system changes.
4. Represent the division/department and serves on committees for special projects.
5. Develop and maintain divisional/departmental policies and procedures, monitor consistent implementation and application.
6. Establish computerized tracking systems to track and monitor the status of internal and external projects, issues, or requests.
7. Oversee Library Advisory Committee processes-prepares, maintains and tracks RBA’s through the process.
8. Coordinates Library BIP requests.
9. Coordinates procurement procedures with County Purchasing; develops budget tracking processes for the Library.
10. Serves as a liaison between departments or with the division to coordinate service levels, enhance communication, clarify issues and resolve problems.
11. Supervise administrative support staff, assign work, coach and evaluate performance, manage schedules and time off request.

WORK ENVIRONMENT: The work is primarily sedentary, although there is some walking, travel, and carrying of lightweight items such as briefcases, notebooks, and work papers. The work is typically performed in an adequately lighted and climate controlled office. May require occasional travel.
