The Systems Librarian provides service-centric, user-focused management of the SDBOR libraries’ cloud-based, shared information technology solutions. These information technology solutions serve the faculty and students of the SDBOR campuses, and include Ex Libris Alma and Primo and OCLC CONTENTdm.

The successful candidate will be responsible for collaborating with the SDBOR libraries’ leadership and staff, SDBOR Regental Information Systems (RIS) staff, and vendors to ensure the optimal performance of the shared IT solutions. S/he will lead data integration efforts across the campuses; troubleshoot and resolve technical problems; provide reports in support of quality assurance and decision making at the system and campus levels; lead and support system-wide user groups; lead and implement technology upgrades; and represent the SDBOR libraries at relevant regional and national user groups.

Additionally, the successful candidate will support the campus libraries’ leadership in their efforts to cooperatively license information resources, and thus will provide analytical utilization reports, assist in license and contract reviews, and trouble-shoot and resolve access problems.

Minimum Requirements:

The successful application will have a bachelor’s degree, a MLIS from an ALA accredited institution is preferred.
A minimum of two years of work experience with information technology systems in academic libraries.

Demonstrated capacity to adapt to changing technologies and maintain a current technical skill-set.

Evidence of successfully managing projects and multiple responsibilities.
Evidence of commitment to collaboration & strong written and oral communication skills.

Experience with Ex Libris Alma and/or Primo, OCLC CONTENTdm, and/or bepress Digital Commons and/or DSpace.

Evidence of developing applications for software.
